What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how FilingLens (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit our website, create an account, upload documents, and use our analysis features. FilingLens is intended for professional research workflows. Please do not upload documents that contain personal data unless you have a lawful basis to do so.

Personal data we process

Depending on how you use FilingLens, we may process the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: email address, password hash, subscription plan, and account timestamps.
  • Usage data: approximate usage metrics (e.g., feature usage, analyses performed, rate limiting events).
  • Technical data: IP address, user agent, device/browser information, and log data.
  • Uploaded content: documents you upload and any extracted text needed to generate analysis outputs.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (Article 9 GDPR). If you upload such data, you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis.

Processors and third parties

We use trusted service providers (“processors”) to operate FilingLens. Depending on configuration and your usage, this may include:

  • Hosting: infrastructure providers used to run the web application.
  • Email delivery: for transactional emails such as password resets.
  • Payments: payment processors for subscription checkout and billing.
  • AI/analysis providers: used to generate analysis outputs based on uploaded documents.
  • Analytics: website analytics provider (only when enabled).

When these providers process personal data on our behalf, we enter into appropriate data processing agreements where required.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
